With 198,659 people, Chattanooga, Tennessee is a fairly large metropolitan area. There are 6 nursing homes there, which gives you plenty of options to choose from. This city received a city grade of B based on the quality of its nursing homes. In fact, this city's city grade was far better than the city grade of nursing homes in the nearby city of Chatsworth. While the nursing homes in Chatsworth are not terrible, we found Chattanooga to be on a whole other level. This place's impressive report card was highlighted by its nursing homes' inspection grades, which is addressed in the next paragraph.
In addition to performing well in its overall grade, most of the facilities in Chattanooga performed especially well in terms of its inspection grade. In fact, some of its facilities received almost perfect inspection reports this year. As a result, we awarded Chattanooga one of our highest ratings in that area with a grade of A. Inspection scores are based on datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that score well in this area tend to have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. In addition, Chattanooga also received one of our better scores in our long-term care category, with a grade of B. In our final two categories, this place earned a B for its short-term care score and a grade of B- for nursing.
