The city was given a city grade of C, which is not one of our better scores at the city level. For comparison's sake, we also assessed the facilities in the nearby city of Noblesville. While we not raving about either city, we found the nursing homes in Rushville to be a better bet. The best part of this place's report card was its nursing homes' exemplary inspection grades. Inspection reports are discussed in the next section.
Despite receiving a fairly ordinary overall grade, this city's nursing homes performed spectacularly well in the area of inspections. In fact, some of its facilities received nearly flawless inspection reports this year. As a result, we awarded Rushville one of our best scores in that area with an A. Our inspection ratings are based on datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that score well in this category typically have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Rushville's next best category was short-term care, where it received a B- in this area. In our final two categories, Rushville earned grades of C and F for our nursing and long-term care categories respectively. In spite of an otherwise respectable performance, this place's poor long-term care rating could be an issue for many people.
