With a population of 22,409 people, Mattoon, Illinois is a relatively small city. There are only 3 nursing homes in the city, which does not give you too many options. Sadly, these nursing homes did not excel from a quality standpoint. Its nursing homes received a city grade of D, which is a terrible score at the city level. Our nursing rating assesses a facility's nurse staffing levels. We factor in both the levels of skill of the nurses as well as the quantity of hours spent with residents. We also wanted to point out that we gave this place a C in short-term care. Lastly, the city were awarded a C in our inspections category and a C for long-term care.
