Powder Springs, Georgia is a small city with 60,347 people. It has just one nursing home, which is not the selection we were hoping for. We were relieved to discover that its only nursing home received a very good overall grade of B+. We were impressed enough with this city to rank it as one of the top twenty five rated cities in all of Georgia. This statistic is also a reminder that this state has a long list of cities with excellent nursing homes. The best aspect of this nursing home's strong report card is its inspection grade. Inspection grades are discussed in the next paragraph
In addition to being an excellent facility overall, this city's sole nursing home really excelled in the category of inspections, where it received an A. Very few places earned a better grade in this category. Our inspection ratings weigh several factors found on a nursing home's inspection report. One key criteria we look at is the number and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with better grades in this category usually have few of these severe deficiencies. This facility also performed remarkably well in our nursing category, where it received an A-. In the other categories we looked at, we awarded the city middle of the pack grades for our short-term care and long-term care areas.
