With 27,707 people, Palm City, Florida is a relatively small city. There are just 2 nursing homes there, which does not provide you with too many options. We also assessed the facilities in the nearby city of Fort Pierce, which received a city grade of B. As impressed as we were with the nursing homes in Fort Pierce, we found Palm City to be on a whole other level. Finally, Palm City is also one of the top 250 cities in the United States.
In addition to performing well in its overall grade, many of the nursing homes in Palm City performed remarkably well in the area of inspections. In fact, some of its facilities received almost perfect inspection reports this year. Consequently, the city received one of our best grades in that area with an A. Our inspection ratings are tied to items found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that excel in this area tend to have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these facilities should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Palm City performed extremely well in the category of long-term care as well. As a result, we awarded Palm City an A in that area.
