Facility Inspections

Grade: A

We also wanted to emphasize that this nursing home has earned nearly flawless government inspections recently. We awarded them an A in this area. Our inspection ratings are based on datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that excel in this category have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This place was assessed 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none of the deficiencies were considered severe. This indicates that the government inspectors didn't deem any of these deficiencies an imminent threat to resident safety or health. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor leaves us less concerned with this inspection report.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Contributing to its strong resume, this nursing home also performed well in our short-term care area. In fact, it received a score of A- in that area. Short-term care grades are generally employed to measure a nursing home's performance with rehabilitation. In order to offer highly graded rehabilitation services, facilities generally must feature better levels of highly skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other licensed professionals. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final datapoint we looked at in this category is the number of residents who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We found that 5.4 percent of this facility's residents returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

This nursing home also received a very impressive nursing grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A-. Our nursing category weighs many datapoints, most of which are tied to quantities of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality measures and this facility excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility the state in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can frequently be prevented by providing better nursing care, such as employing a system of turning residents more often.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

Moving on to the last area, this nursing home was given a high-end long-term care score. In fact, we gave it a B+ in this category, wrapping up one of our more favorable profiles. When facilities receive a grade in this range in this category it generally means it has plenty of staff and is a quality place to live on a permanent basis. In addition to considering the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 99.545456 percent of its residents. Vaccines are critical to keeping patients healthy. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.03 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
