With just two nursing homes in the city, there are only a few options in Lake Wales, Florida. Unfortunately, we awarded the nursing homes here city grade of D, which is an abysmal grade at the city level. We looked at the individual facilities in Lake Wales and we didn't see any great options as not a single nursing home here received an above average grade. The only positive thing we can really say about this place is that it didn't receive any F's in in any of the major categories. Additional information about these categories is available below.
This city's nursing homes received an awful overall grade, however, we wanted to acknowledge its strong health inspections in recent years. We awarded it a grade of B in this category. Perhaps the most critical factor we look at in calculating our inspection grades is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's inspection reports. It is generally best to avoid places that had too many severe deficiencies. Surprisingly, this city also performed respectably in our short-term care category, where it received a grade of B- in this area. In our final two categories, Lake Wales received a grade of C for its nursing rating and a grade of D for long-term care. Despite an otherwise respectable performance, this city's poor long-term care rating could be concerning for many people.
