Crowley, Louisiana has only two nursing homes to choose from, which is a limited selection. We gave this small group of nursing homes a city grade of B, which is a good score. By way of comparison, we gave the facilities in the local city of Lafayette a city grade of B-, which is also a solid grade. Looking at them side by side though, we found the facilities in Crowley to be slightly stronger those in Lafayette. As mentioned above, this city's nursing homes received a great overall grade, but we also wanted to emphasize that some of the city's nursing homes received nearly perfect health inspections in recent years. We gave Crowley an impressive grade of A+ in this area. Perhaps the most important factor we look at in determining our inspection ratings is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places with better grades in this area most likely avoided the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. The city performed spectacularly well in our long-term care category as well. Consequently, the city received an A- in this area. In our final two categories, the city received a grade of C in our short-term care category and a grade of D in nursing. Clearly, nursing proved to be its weakest category, but a single poor category grade isn't the end of the world.
