Crowley, Louisiana has only two nursing homes to choose from, which is a limited selection. We gave this small group of nursing homes a city grade of B-, which is a solid score. We also assessed the facilities in the nearby city of Lafayette, which received a city grade of C. We found Crowley to be a better option. The best part of this city's report card was its nursing homes' exemplary inspection grades. Inspection reports are discussed in the next paragraph.
While its overall score was fairly ordinary, the nursing homes in Crowley performed remarkably well in our inspection category. In fact, we awarded Crowley an A for that category, which is one of our highest scores. Inspection scores are tied to pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that score well in this area typically have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Crowley performed especially well in the category of long-term care as well. Consequently, we awarded Crowley a grade of A- in that area. Lastly, Crowley earned alarmingly low grades for our nursing and short-term care areas respectively.
