With five nursing homes in the city, there are only a few choices in West Lafayette, Indiana. This place's nursing homes received an excellent city grade of B+, so what this place lacks in quantity, it makes up for by having high quality nursing homes. We were so impressed with West Lafayette that we rated it as one of the top fifteen rated cities in Indiana. This city's impressive report card was highlighted by its nursing homes' inspection ratings, which we will address in the next paragraph.
On top of having excellent nursing homes overall, this city really excelled in the area of inspections, where it received an A. Few cities fared this well in this category. Arguably the most significant factor we look at in calculating our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with higher grades in this category typically dodged the most severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. The city performed especially well in terms of its short-term care grade as well. Consequently, we awarded it an A- in that area. In our final two categories, we gave West Lafayette middle of the pack grades for our nursing and long-term care categories.
