There are two nursing homes in Indio, California, which at least gives you a few options to choose from. These nursing homes received on average an overall grade of D. This reflects the fact that this city has some really bad nursing homes. This city appears to be a similar option to the local city of Yucaipa, which also received a below average grade of D. Frankly, neither city received a very good review. We really don't have too many positive things to say about this place's nursing homes, but they did receive surprisingly strong inspection grades. While its overall rating was as bad as it gets, the facilities in Indio performed much better in our inspection category. In fact, we awarded it a B+ for that category, which is one of our better grades. Our inspection scores account for a host of factors included in a facility's inspection report. One key criteria we weigh heavily is the number and severity of deficiencies. You should avoid nursing homes with a bunch of severe deficiencies flagged. Surprisingly, Indio performed decently in our long-term care category as well, where we gave it a C for this category. In our final two categories, Indio earned grades of C and D for our short-term care and nursing categories respectively. Even with an otherwise respectable profile, a nursing rating of this caliber may be an ominous sign for levels of nurse staffing.
