Facility Inspections
Although we did not rate this facility favorably overall, we want to draw your attention to its nearly flawless health inspections in recent years. We awarded them an A- in this category. Our inspection grades are based on several datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are an important item to look for on these inspections. You should especially avoid nursing homes that have severe deficiencies linked to risks to resident well being. This place was assessed 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered severe. This means that the government inspectors did not consider any of these deficiencies to be an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies aren't necessarily the end of the world.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility's long-term care score is one of its higher features. The nursing home was awarded a grade of B- in this category. Long-term care scores are crucial for prospective residents in need of personal care. In addition to assessing the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Thankfully, this facility provided the vaccine to 100 percent of its patients, which is an above average datapoint. Lastly, this facility was also able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Short-term Care Quality
This facility's second least favorable category was short-term care, where it earned a grade of just D in that area. This is a relatively poor score. In the category of short-term care, we try to assess measures of a facility's rehabilitation services. We look at the facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and physical and occupational therapists. Given its score in this area, we weren't surprised to learn that this place was well below average in terms of the number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours offered to its patients based on the metrics we assessed. Finally, we looked at the number of patients that ultimately were able to return home from this nursing home. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 5.6 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
Nurse Quality
The last category we looked at is nursing. Sadly, it received an F for this area, which is a very poor score. Nursing ratings are primarily tied to the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home averaged only 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is not a very impressive figure. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing ratings. This facility performed well in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.
