With a population of 11,183 people, Medina, New York is a relatively small city. There are just 2 nursing homes there, which does not give you too many choices. This place's limited supply of nursing homes were awarded a city grade of B. We also looked at the nursing homes in the nearby city of Niagara Falls, which has some decent nursing homes of its own. However, we found the facilities in Medina to be better than the ones in Niagara Falls. The best aspect of this city's impressive profile was its nursing homes' inspection scores. On top of having quality nursing homes on the whole, this city's nursing homes really excelled in the area of inspections, where it received an A+. Very few cities earned a better grade in this area. Inspection scores weigh a host of factors found on a nursing home's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we consider is the number and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with higher scores in this area usually have few severe deficiencies. Medina also fared well in the category of health long-term care with a grade of B+. Lastly, the city received a B- in our short-term care category and a C in the area of nursing.
