Even with only a couple of nursing homes, this is still quite an achievement. Even in a state with many good places to find nursing homes, we ranked Cape May as one of the top twenty five rated cities in New Jersey. The best aspect of Cape May's strong report card is its nursing homes' inspection reports. Inspection reports are discussed in the next paragraph
In addition to receiving a strong overall grade, most of the nursing homes in Cape May performed spectacularly well in our inspection category. In fact, we awarded its facilities an A+ for this category, which is one of our best scores. Perhaps the most significant factor we look at in determining our inspection grades is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Facilities with better scores in this category typically dodged the more severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. We also awarded this city an A in our long-term care category. Wrapping up its report card, we awarded the city a B+ for its short-term care score and a B in the area of nursing. We really found this place to be very strong in every category.
