Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

In addition to being a quality nursing home overall, this facility excelled in the area of short-term care, where it received an A-. Few facilities fared better in this area. In calculating our short-term care scores, we analyze a facility's levels of highly skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other highly skilled individuals. This area is frequently a reliable assessment of a nursing home's rehabilitation. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final measure we considered in this category is the number of patients who eventually returned home from the nursing home. As a result, it received one of our best grades in that category with a grade of A-. Our inspection grades account for a host of factors found on a facility's inspection report. One key criteria we consider is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with higher scores in this area typically have few severe deficiencies. This place was hit with 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none were considered to be major deficiencies. This tells you that the government inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies an imminent threat to resident health or safety. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in this industry.

The last category we scored is long-term care. We awarded this facility a solid grade in this category, with a grade of B-. Even though this isn't as strong as several of this facility's other grades, it is still nothing to be ashamed of. Our long-term care ratings are based in part on the nursing home's amount of care. This means a broad range of personal care services, ranging from help with activities of daily living to routine healthcare services. Thankfully, this facility vaccinated 98.45758 percent of its residents, which is a very solid datapoint. Finally, this facility was also able to limit hospitalizations.
