Winchester, Indiana offers just two nursing homes to choose from, which is not a ton of options. With a city grade of B, this city's nursing homes turned out to be good options. This is an average city grade nationally, which is nothing to be ashamed of. This place's nursing homes are stronger in some categories than others, but it did not have any bad scores in any of our major categories. More information about these categories is available in the next paragraph.
As mentioned above, this city received a strong overall grade, but we especially wanted to emphasize that some of the city's nursing homes received almost perfect health inspections the past few years. We awarded Winchester an impressive grade of A+ for this area. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating these inspection scores. One critical factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these can be quite minor. The city also earned one of our better scores in our short-term care category, with a B. In our final two categories, Winchester earned a B- for its nursing grade and a B- for long-term care.
