With three nursing homes in the city, there are only a few options to choose from in Thomaston, Georgia. Unfortunately, the nursing homes here received a city grade of D, which is one of our worst score at the city level. For comparison's sake, we also assessed the nursing homes in the nearby city of Mcdonough, which received a terrible city grade of F. While neither city comes highly recommended, Thomaston actually appears to be the better choice. The only positive thing we can say about this city is that it didn't receive any F's in any of the categories we assessed. More information about its category grades is available below.
Thomaston received an abysmal overall grade, but we wanted to point out its nursing homes' strong government inspections in recent years. We awarded the city a grade of B+ in this area. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating our inspection ratings. One of those factors is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is usually more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some end up being relatively minor. Surprisingly, this city performed better in the area of long-term care as well, where it received a grade of C for that category. In the other categories we looked at, Thomaston received rock bottom grades for our short-term care and nursing areas respectively.
