There are two nursing homes in Kaufman, Texas, which at least gives you a few options to choose from. Sadly, these nursing homes did not excel from a quality perspective. Its nursing homes were given a city grade of D, which is an abysmal grade at the city level. For comparison's sake, we also looked at the nursing homes in the nearby city of Red Oak, which received a city grade of F. While we gave both cites terrible scores, we found the facilities in Kaufman to be slightly better. Despite all of its shortcomings, one of the few highlights of this city's report card is its impressive inspection score. While the city's overall grade was abysmal, we awarded this city's nursing homes a grade of A for our inspections rating. Inspection grades weigh several factors found on a nursing home's inspection reports. One key criteria we rely on is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. You generally want to avoid facilities with too many deficiencies flagged. Surprisingly, this city performed respectably in our long-term care category as well, where it received a C for that category. In our final two categories, we awarded the city abysmal grades in our nursing and short-term care categories respectively.
