Alexandria, Louisiana offers just five nursing homes to choose from, which is not a ton of options. This city received a city grade of C based on the quality of its nursing homes. This is not a strong city grade. This score unfortunately ended up on the wrong side of the national average. One of the major highlights of this city's report card is its remarkable inspection reports, which we will address in the following section.
Despite receiving a somewhat average overall grade, this city performed especially well in the area of inspections. In fact, some of the nursing homes in the city received almost perfect inspection reports this year. Consequently, Alexandria received one of our highest grades in that area with an A. Inspection scores weigh a host of factors included in a nursing home's inspection report. One key criteria we rely on is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with better grades in this area tend to have very few of these severe deficiencies. Alexandria's second best grade came in the area of long-term care, where it received a grade of B-. Finally, this place received terrible grades for our nursing and short-term care categories respectively.
