Centralia, Illinois offers only two nursing homes to choose from, which is not a ton of options. We gave the nursing homes here a superb city grade of A-. Even with only a few nursing homes, this is still a great achievement. In fact, this city's city grade was far better than the city grade of facilities in the local city of Carbondale. While there is nothing wrong with the nursing homes in Carbondale, we found Centralia to be in a totally different league. Lastly, this city has the prestigious distinction of being the 4 best city in the state of Illinois according to our rankings.
On top of having quality nursing homes overall, this place really excelled in the area of inspections, where it received a grade of A+. Few cities performed better in this area. Arguably the most significant factor we look at in computing our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Places with higher scores in this area most likely avoided the more severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. We also awarded this city an A- in our short-term care category. Wrapping up its phenomenal report card, this place received grades of A- and B+ for our long-term care and nursing categories respectively.
