Laredo, Texas has just five nursing homes to choose from, which is a limited selection. We gave this relatively small group of nursing homes a city grade of B-, which is a respectable score. This is comparable with most of the cities in the nation. Finally, this place's nursing homes were consistent in all of the other areas we looked at. More information about these categories is available in the next section.
Despite receiving a fairly ordinary overall grade, this city's nursing homes performed especially well in our inspections category. In fact, some of its facilities received virtually perfect inspection reports this year. As a result, Laredo received one of our best scores in that area with an A. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating our inspection ratings. One key factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some are relatively insignificant. In addition, the city earned a B+ for the city's long-term care rating. In our final two categories, Laredo received a grade of C for its short-term care rating and a C in nursing.
