With a population of 6,958 , Grand Saline, Texas is a relatively small city. There are just 3 nursing homes there, which doesn't offer you too many options. This city received a city grade of B for overall nursing home quality. We also assessed the nursing homes in the nearby city of Garland. We found the facilities in Grand Saline to be rated much higher than the ones in Garland. This city's strong report card was highlighted by its nursing homes' inspection reports, which is addressed in the next paragraph.
As mentioned above, this city's nursing homes received a great overall grade, but we especially wanted to emphasize that some of the city's nursing homes received almost flawless health inspections the past few years. We awarded Grand Saline an impressive grade of A+ for this area. Perhaps the most significant factor we consider in computing our inspection scores is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities with higher scores in this category typically avoided the most severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. The city also performed extremely well in the area of long-term care, where we gave it an A- for this area. Lastly, the city earned terrible grades for our short-term care and nursing categories respectively. We are surprised by its poor performance in these two categories.
