Hilton Head Island, South Carolina has just two nursing homes to choose from, so you don't have too many options to choose from. The nursing homes here received a superb city grade of A. Even with just a couple of facilities, this is still quite an achievement. We found this city grade to be considerably better than the city grade of C received by the nearby city of Savannah. While that isn't a terrible grade, Hilton Head Island appears to be a far better option. On top of this, Hilton Head Island turned out to be the fifth best city in South Carolina according to our rankings.
In addition to receiving a strong overall grade, most of the nursing homes in Hilton Head Island performed extremely well in our inspection category. In fact, we awarded Hilton Head Island an A+ for this category, which is one of our best scores. These inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. In addition, we also wanted to point out that we awarded the city an A for our nursing rating. Rounding out its first-rate report card, Hilton Head Island received grades of A- and B+ for our short-term care and long-term care categories respectively.
