This city's nursing homes' overall grade was propped up by its favorable health inspections in recent years. We awarded the city one of our better grades in this category, with a B+. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining our inspection scores. One of those factors is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some deficiencies end up being relatively minor. Inspections is Brevard's next best grade. It earned a grade of C in this area. Finally, the city received a C for its long-term care rating and a grade of D for nursing. Although we found most of its grades to be acceptable, this low nursing score is not a good sign for nursing staffing levels.
