With two nursing homes in the city, there are only a few choices in Alamogordo, New Mexico. We gave the nursing homes here city grade of C, which isn't as high of a grade as we like. This grade unfortunately ended up on the wrong side of the national average. The best part of this place's report card is is its short-term care rating. Short-term care grades are discussed in the next paragraph.
The nursing homes in Alamogordo received a short-term care score which is stronger than its overall grade. We gave it a favorable grade of B in this category. Our short-term care grades are crucial for residents requiring rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually requires higher levels of skilled nursing services. This includes a vast range of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. The city earned a grade of B in the area of nursing. Finally, this place received grades of C and D for our inspections and long-term care areas respectively. Clearly, this city's long-term care grade really pulled down its overall score.
