With just two nursing homes in the city, there are only a few options in Grand Haven, Michigan. We awarded the nursing homes here city grade of C, which isn't quite as high of a grade as we like. This score unfortunately is on the wrong side of the national average. The best part of this city's report card was its nursing homes' exemplary short-term care scores. Short-term care grades are discussed in the next section.
While its overall rating was somewhat average, we awarded Grand Haven an A- in the area of short-term care. With a short-term care grade of this caliber we'd expect many of the facilities here to a high functioning physical therapy and rehabilitation program. In addition, Grand Haven also really excelled in the area of nursing, where it received an A-. In the other categories we looked at, we gave Grand Haven terrible grades in our inspections and long-term care areas respectively. It goes without saying that this city's long-term care grade really dragged down its overall score.
