There are two facilities in Paxton, Illinois, so at least you have a few options to choose from. Sadly, the nursing homes in this city received a city grade of D, which is a terrible score at the city level. We also assessed the facilities in the nearby city of Champaign, which received a terrible city grade of F. While neither city received a favorable grade, Paxton looks like a better option. We don't have too many good things to say about this city's facilities, but their best category was inspection grades. You can continue reading to find out about inspections and other category grades.
Despite receiving an abysmal overall grade, this city's nursing homes performed better in our inspections category. In fact, it received a relatively impressive inspection report this year. We awarded it a B- in this area. These inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. We also wanted to point out that we awarded the city a grade of C in our short-term care category. In the other categories we looked at, the city received grades of C and D for our nursing and long-term care areas respectively. Even with an otherwise respectable performance, this place's weak long-term care rating could be an issue for many people.
