With just two nursing homes in the city, there are only a couple of choices in Anna, Illinois. Despite not having a ton of nursing homes, this city's nursing homes received a very good city grade of B+. We found this city grade to be considerably better than the city grade of C received by the nearby city of Carbondale. While that is not an awful grade, Anna appears to be in a totally different league. On top of this, Anna turned out to be the thirteenth best city in Illinois according to our ratings.
In addition to having excellent nursing homes on the whole, this city really excelled in the category of inspections, where we gave it an A+. Few cities fared this well in this area. Inspection scores are based on many items located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that excel in this area typically have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. The city also really excelled in the category of nursing, where we gave it an A-. In the other categories we looked at, Anna were awarded a B+ for its long-term care rating and a B- in the area of short-term care.
