Wausau, Wisconsin has only four nursing homes to choose from, which is not a ton of options. While this place didn't have a ton of nursing homes, this city's nursing homes received a strong city grade of B+. This is a well above average grade with the overwhelming majority of places receiving a B or lower. Fortunately, this place didn't have any poor grades in any of the major categories discussed below. Additional information about its category grades is available in the next paragraph.
As mentioned above, this city's nursing homes received a great overall grade, but we also wanted to point out that some of the city's nursing homes received virtually flawless health inspections in recent years. We gave Wausau an elite grade of A- for this area. Perhaps the most important factor we look at in determining our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a facility's inspection reports. Nursing homes with better scores in this category typically avoided the more severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. In addition, Wausau performed spectacularly well in the area of short-term care as well. As a result, the city received an A- in this area. In our final two categories, Wausau earned a grade of B+ for its nursing rating and a B- for long-term care.
