Although we gave this nursing home a poor overall grade, we actually gave it a fairly respectable grade in the area of inspections, where we gave it a B-. This was quite a bit better than its other categories. We would argue that one of the most important factors in evaluating an inspection report is deficiencies. In this regard, we especially focus on the severity of those deficiencies. This place was assessed 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none of the deficiencies were considered severe. This tells you that the government inspectors did not consider any of these deficiencies to create an imminent threat to resident health or safety. Finally, this facility was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We would not recommend this facility under any circumstance.

We awarded this facility a respectable grade in the area of nursing as well, with a grade of B-. Our nursing grade is largely associated with the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. Based on the data, it looks like this nursing home provides an impressive 4.4 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. Out of this total, nearly one quarter of these hours were provided by registered nurses, which are one of the most highly skilled levels of nurses. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in some quality-focused statistics. Specifically, we look at the percent of residents who sustained pressure ulcers and major falls. We view these datapoints as good measures of the quality of nursing care, since better care tends to reduce these problems.

This nursing home's third most favorable area was short-term care. We awarded it a grade of B- in this category. This is essentially a middle of the road grade in this category. In the category of short-term care, we seek to assess measures of a facility's rehabilitation services. We look at a facility's skilled nursing services, including the ones performed by registered nurses and physical and occupational therapists. When we assessed this facility's nursing hours, we found it offered substantially more care from registered nurses than most nursing homes. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents that returned home from this facility. We found that it performed respectably in this metric with 46.4 percent of its residents returning home.

Turning to the last area, this nursing home was awarded a B- for long-term care, which is a decent grade. With our long-term care assessment, we look at the amount of services provided by a facility, along with some quality metrics. After we finished assessing the volume of care provided by nurses, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination record. We were pleased to discover that this nursing home vaccinated 98.907104 percent of its patients against pneumonia. This place was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. It had only 1.25 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a significantly lower hospitalization rate than most nursing homes.
