There are three facilities in Carthage, Texas, which at least gives you a few options to choose from. This city received a city grade of C based on its overall nursing home quality. This is not a strong city grade. This city appears to be comparable to the local city of Longview, which received a grade of C. Neither city received stellar marks in our assessment. The best part of this place's report card was its nursing homes' stellar inspection reports. Inspection reports are discussed in the following paragraph.
While its overall rating was not elite, we awarded Carthage an A- for our inspections rating. Inspection scores are based on several pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that score well in this category have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. In addition, Carthage earned a B for the city's long-term care rating. In the other categories we looked at, the city earned alarmingly low grades in our nursing and short-term care categories respectively.
