With just two nursing homes in the city, you only have a couple of choices in Sparta, Tennessee. The nursing homes here received a first-rate city grade of A. Even with just a few facilities, this is still a great achievement. By way of comparison, we awarded the facilities in the local city of Crossville a city grade of B, which is also an impressive grade. However, we found the facilities in Sparta to be rated much higher than the ones in Crossville. We were so impressed with Sparta that we rated it as one of the top 100 cities in the United States.
This city's nursing homes received a great overall grade, but we especially wanted to point out that some of its nursing homes received nearly flawless health inspections in recent years. We awarded Sparta an elite grade of A+ for this area. These inspection grades weigh several factors, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. We also wanted to emphasize that we awarded the city an A for our long-term care rating. Rounding out its first-rate report card, the city received grades of A- and B+ for our short-term care and nursing categories respectively.
