Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to point out that this nursing home has received near flawless government inspections recently. We gave them an impressive grade of A+ in this area. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining our inspection grades. One key factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some of these end up being relatively insignificant. While this place had some deficiencies on its government inspection report, none of them were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

We also want to alert you to the fact that this nursing home was given a superb grade of A in our long-term care area. Nursing homes that receive this kind of score in long-term care tend to provide consistent 24/7 care to make sure patients are kept in good health. On top of considering the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 97.83282 percent of its patients, which is much higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. Lastly, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

Adding to its strong resume, this facility also received an excellent nursing score, with a grade of A-. Nursing grades are largely based on a nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well in the area of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

The last area we assessed is short-term care, in which this nursing home was given a grade of B. This actually was this facility's worst area. A facility is doing something right when it's poorest score still is superior to most nursing homes. Our short-term care grades are believed to be more important for patients needing rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation typically utilizes more skilled nursing. Skilled nursing means not only nursing, but also physical and respiratory therapy, as well as other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final item we considered in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We found that 4.9 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
