Our inspection grades are based on datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that excel in this area have few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Long-term Care Quality
This exemplary facility also performed well in the area of long-term care, where it received a score of A+. Only a small group of nursing homes performed better in this category. Nursing homes that receive this kind of grade in this category typically provide consistent 24/7 care to make sure residents are kept in good health. Once we concluded our assessment of the quantity of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is an impressive figure. Pneumonia sadly can be a deadly health condition for nursing home patients so we strongly prefer when a nursing home doesn't leave its residents vulnerable. Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 1.13 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has fewer hospitalizations than most nursing homes.

Most of these datapoints are tied to the quantity and quality of nurse staffing. This nursing home offers 3.7 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis, of which more than an hour of those were provided by registered nurses. This is one of the more highly trained levels of nurses. In calculating our nursing scores, we add more weight to hours performed by registered or licensed nurses. Finally, we also looked at certain nursing quality measures in computing our nursing grades. These include minimizing residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We look at these datapoints as good measures of the quality of nursing care being provided, since better care tends to reduce these problems.
Short-term Care Quality
In the last category we scored, this facility was given a very strong grade of A in our short-term care category. With this score, the nursing home finished off a straight A profile.
