Short-term Care Quality
A+
Historical
On top of receiving a great overall grade, this nursing home also received an A+ in short-term care. Short-term care scores are important for patients needing rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically requires additional skilled nursing services. This includes a broad scope of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. This nursing home excelled in two key staffing areas we looked at. In fact, it offered about 50% more care from registered nurses and physical therapists than the typical nursing home. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who ultimately were able to return home from this facility. On top of excelling in the area of physical therapy hours, we found that it fared as well as just about any facility in the country with 66.6 percent of its patients returning home.

Historical
Adding to its dominant profile, this facility also performed well in our long-term care category. In fact, we gave it a grade of A for the area. Nursing homes that receive this kind of grade in long-term care tend to provide consistent 24/7 care to ensure residents are kept in good health. This facility provided the pneumonia vaccine to 97.916664 percent of its residents, which is what we like to see. This combination proved to be successful as this nursing home was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality
A-
Historical
Among its many impressive grades, this facility received an excellent nursing grade. In fact, we gave it a grade of A- in that category. Our nursing grade features a host of datapoints. The most important factor is the amount of time nurses spend with patients. This nursing home provided 4.9 hours of nursing care per resident each day, which is among the higher figures in the country. A significant portion of those hours were provided by registered nurses, which are one of the most highly skilled levels of nurses. We were very impressed by these statistics. On top of offering impressive levels of care, this facility also performed well in several of the quality-based metrics we assessed. For example, in terms of the number of its residents suffering falls leading to serious injury, this facility performed as well as any nursing home the nation. Avoiding serious falls is generally an indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are employed.
Facility Inspections
A-
Historical
Adding to its impressive category grades, this facility also excelled in inspections, where it earned an impressive grade of A-. This finished off a straight A report card for this nursing home. Perhaps the most critical factor we consider in computing our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Nursing homes with better grades in this category typically avoided the most severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
