While we graded this place incredibly poorly overall, it earned a very impressive inspection report this year. As a result, it received one of our more favorable scores in that category with a B. Our inspection scores are based on datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are a key thing to look for on these reports. Most importantly, you should avoid facilities that have severe deficiencies linked to risks to resident well being. While this facility had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A few minor deficiencies are not necessarily the end of the world.

This facility's second best score was short-term care, but it nevertheless received a grade of just D in that category. This turns out to be a well below average score. Short-term care ratings are crucial for patients looking for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally mandates more skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes a vast spectrum of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Considering its grade in this area, we weren't stunned to find that this place was well below average in terms of its quantity of physical therapy and registered nurse hours offered to its residents based on the metrics we looked at. Honestly, this was about what we expected to find. The final datapoint we assessed in this area is the number of residents who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that just 0 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is well below average. The combination of these subpar metrics was damning for this nursing home's short-term care grade.

This nursing home fared well in the area of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.

In a long-term care setting, the facility's primary objective is to maintain patients' quality of life and keep them safe. On top of looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Thankfully, this facility vaccinated 100 percent of its residents, which is an above average total. To our surprise, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
