Medical Staff Hours Per Patient (2019)
Nurse Quality
In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this nursing home received an A+ for nursing. Nursing grades are primarily based on the nursing home's nurse staffing. This facility provides an incredible 6.4 hours of nursing care per patient per day. Out of this total, many of those hours were provided by registered nurses, which is one of the most highly trained levels of nurses. In addition to providing high levels of nursing care, this nursing home also excelled in the quality measures we assessed. It performed as well as any nursing home in the nation in the area of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.
Facility Inspections
The next category we looked at was inspections, where this facility also received an A+ grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this critical category. Arguably the most critical factor we consider in computing our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places with higher grades in this area most likely avoided the most severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. It does not appear that we have information on deficiency's for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility also was given an A+ for its long-term care score. Nursing homes that excel in this category tend to be well-staffed and offer extensive hands on care to residents. One of the datapoints we considered in addition to nurse's aid hours is vaccines. This nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccination to 95.23809 percent of its residents. This is a reliable method to minimize unnecessary deaths and hospitalizations for the senior population. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
Short-term Care Quality
In the final category we graded, this nursing home received an impressive grade grade of A in our short-term care category. With this grade, the nursing home rounded out a straight A report card. Our short-term care grades are believed to be most critical for individuals needing a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally mandates higher levels of highly-skilled nursing. This means not only nursing services, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other forms of therapy. One of this facility's strengths is registered nurse hours. We found that it provides more care from registered nurses to its residents than most nursing homes. The last metric we looked at in this area is the number of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We found that 0 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
