Newark, New York offers only two nursing homes to choose from, so you don't have too many options to choose from. While it only has a couple of nursing homes, this city received a world class city grade of A-. In fact, this place's city grade was even better than the city grade of facilities in the local city of Auburn. This is especially impressive in light of the fact that we gave those facilities in Auburn a city grade of B, which is a good grade in its own right. In fact, some of its facilities received nearly perfect inspection reports this year. Consequently, we awarded Newark one of our best grades in that category with an A+. Our inspection scores are based on many items located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that receive favorable grades in this category typically have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. In addition, Newark also performed extremely well in the area of long-term care, with a grade of A- for this category. Rounding out its quality profile, the city earned a grade of B for short-term care and a B in nursing. We really found this city to be strong in each category we assessed.
