Farmington, New Mexico has just four nursing homes to choose from, which is a limited selection. We awarded the nursing homes here an excellent city grade of B+. Even with just a few nursing homes, this is still an impressive city grade. By way of comparison, we gave the nursing homes in the local city of Durango a city grade of B, which is also a good score. However, we found the facilities in Farmington to be rated slightly higher than the ones in Durango. On top of this, Farmington is one of the three highest rated cities in all of New Mexico.

In addition to performing well in its overall grade, most of the nursing homes in Farmington performed extremely well in our inspections category. In fact, some of the nursing homes in the city received almost flawless inspection reports this year. As a result, we awarded Farmington one of our best scores in that category with a grade of A-. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing these inspection ratings. One key factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some of these can be relatively minor. In addition, the city also received one of our better grades in the area of short-term care, with a grade of B+. Wrapping up its impressive report card, the city earned a grade of B+ in our nursing category and a grade of B in long-term care. This place really didn't have any weak links as far as we could tell.
