There are three nursing homes in Bastrop, Louisiana, which at least gives you a few options. We gave this small group of nursing homes a city grade of B, which is a very solid grade. For comparison's sake, we also assessed the nursing homes in the nearby city of West Monroe, which received a city grade of C. We found Bastrop to be a bit better. The best part of this city's impressive report card is its nursing homes' inspection ratings. Inspection reports are discussed in the next section
This city's nursing homes received a strong overall grade, but we also wanted to emphasize that some of the city's nursing homes received almost perfect health inspections the past few years. We gave Bastrop an elite grade of A+ for this area. Our inspection scores are tied to pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that excel in this category typically have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. In addition, Bastrop also really excelled in the area of long-term care, where we gave it an A-. In our final two categories, this place received a grade of C in our short-term care category and a grade of D in the area of nursing. Obviously, nursing proved to be this city's weak link, but one poor category grade isn't the end of the world.
