There are two nursing homes in Alexander City, Alabama, which at least gives you a few options to choose from. The nursing homes in this city received a phenomenal city grade of A. Even with just a couple of facilities, this is still quite an achievement. For comparison's sake, we also looked at the facilities in the nearby city of Lagrange, which received a city grade of B+. As good as the nursing homes are in Lagrange, we found Alexander City to be in a totally different league. Headlining this place's exemplary profile is its inspection grade, which we will address in the next section.
This city received a strong overall grade, but we especially wanted to emphasize that some of the city's nursing homes received virtually perfect health inspections the past few years. We awarded Alexander City an elite grade of A+ for this area. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining these inspection grades. One key factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some can be relatively insignificant. We also awarded Alexander City an A in our nursing category. Rounding out its phenomenal report card, this place earned grades of A and B+ for our long-term care and short-term care areas respectively.
