With just two nursing homes in the city, there are only a couple of choices in Schofield, Wisconsin. While this place didn't have a ton of nursing homes, this city received an excellent city grade of A+. For comparison's sake, we also assessed the facilities in the nearby city of Stevens Point, which received a city grade of A-. As good as the nursing homes are in Stevens Point, we found Schofield to be even better. Lastly, this city's category grades were every bit as impressive as its overall city grade. You can find more information about these in the next paragraph.
In addition to performing well in its overall grade, many of the facilities in Schofield performed especially well in terms of its inspection grade. In fact, some of its facilities received nearly perfect inspection reports this year. Consequently, the city received one of our best ratings in that category with an A+. Perhaps the most critical factor we consider in determining our inspection ratings is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places with higher grades in this area most likely dodged the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. We also wanted to emphasize that we gave the city a grade of A+ in our short-term care rating. Wrapping up its straight A profile, Schofield received an A for long-term care and an A for nursing.
