With a population of 8,689 , Bandera, Texas is a relatively small city. There are just 2 nursing homes in the city, which doesn't provide you with too many options to choose from. This city received a city grade of C for an overall score. This is not a strong city score. We also assessed the facilities in the nearby city of Kerrville, which received a city grade of D. While neither city comes highly recommended, Bandera actually looks like the better option. The best part of this place's report card was its nursing homes' exemplary inspection reports. Inspection grades are discussed in the next section.
This city received a fairly ordinary overall grade, but we really would like to point out that some of the nursing homes in the city virtually flawless health inspections in recent years. We gave it an elite grade of A- in this category. Arguably the most significant factor we consider in determining our inspection scores is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a facility's inspection reports. Nursing homes with higher scores in this area typically avoided the most severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. Bandera also received strong long-term care score where it received a grade of B+ in this area. In our final two categories, Bandera earned rock bottom grades for our short-term care and nursing areas respectively.
