Facility Inspections
To pair with its relatively modest overall score, we awarded this nursing home an A- for our inspections rating. This is far more impressive than its overall rating. These inspection scores weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this place had a few deficiencies on its report, none of them were major deficiencies based on CMS' deficiency scale. A couple of minor deficiencies shouldn't stop you from considering a nursing home.
Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home also was awarded a strong score in our short-term care category. We awarded this facility a better than average grade of B in that area. In determining our short-term care grades, we look at the nursing home's levels of skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other types of therapists. This score is more often than not a useful measure of a facility's rehabilitation. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. However, based on the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the number of patients who who were able to eventually return home from this facility. We found that 5 percent of this nursing home's patients were able to return home.

Nurse Quality
This nursing home's nursing grade appears to be one of its better features. The facility received a grade of C in this category. Nursing scores are mostly based on a facility's nurse staffing. This place provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. This is a relatively low total compared to most facilities. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures. While this place got dinged a bit for nursing hours, it excelled in some of these quality metrics. With less than five percent of its patients sustaining pressure ulcers, it did well in this subcategory. This is often an indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can many times be prevented by providing better nursing care, such as by employing a protocol of moving residents more often.
Long-term Care Quality
The last area we graded was long-term care. We gave it an abysmal F for this area, which is a very poor grade. This is obviously a major disappointment. For long-term care residents, the primary objective is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. In addition to assessing the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility provided the vaccine to 99.71098 percent of its patients, which is better than the average nursing home. Surprisingly, this nursing home also fared well at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
