Nurse Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility excelled in our nursing rating. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. The nursing rating includes quite a few factors, most of which are tied to nursing hours. This facility provided 0.7 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

The next category we looked at was inspections, where this facility also received an A+ grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this critical category. Inspection grades weigh several factors, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these items by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This particular nursing home received 6 deficiencies on its inspection report. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also gave this facility a grade of of A+ for its short-term care grade. In our short-term care score, we endeavor to create a valuable barometer for rehabilitation. In doing so, we look at a facility's scope of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. This nursing home employs both physical therapists and registered nurses. Not all facilities employ these skilled professionals. The final item we considered in this category is the number of patients who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that 6.5 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

Switching gears to our last area, this nursing home was given a strong long-term care grade. We awarded it an A in this area, rounding out a straight A profile. For long-term care residents, the nursing home's primary objective is to maintain patients' quality of life and keep them safe. Once we looked at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we next considered the facility's vaccination statistics. This facility vaccinated 58.82353 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is slightly less than we expected but still a respectable figure. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
