Although we did not rate this nursing home well overall, we wanted to point out its decent health inspection reports in recent years. We gave it a somewhat respectable score of B- in this category. We believe that one of the most critical factors in evaluating an inspection report is deficiencies. We especially focus on the severity of the deficiencies. Fortunately, although this facility had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G through L. This tells you CMS did not deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Lastly, this facility was flagged by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We prefer to avoid facilities with this designation. Please do your best to find an alternative nursing home.

One of the other reasons we rated this nursing home so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing rating. In that area, we gave this facility an B-. Our nursing grade is largely based on the facility's level of nurse staffing. This facility averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident each day, which is well below average. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this place excelled in some of the quality measures we assessed. It scored well when it comes to avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.

The third area we graded is short-term care. In that area, we awarded this nursing home a decent grade of B-. With our short-term care category, we try to craft a sound measure for rehabilitation. In this process, we analyze a nursing home's scope of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as speech therapy. Unfortunately, we found that this place provided fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other facilities. The final measure we looked at in this category is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We discovered that just 0 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is below average.

The last category we looked at is long-term care. For that category, we awarded this facility a grade of B-. In a long-term care setting, the nursing home's primary objective is to keep patients healthy and safe. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate residents. In addition to looking at the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. We discovered that this facility gave the vaccine to a relatively low 57.377052 percent of its residents, which is quite a bit lower than we expected. Nevertheless, this place excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
