Facility Inspections
This facility earned a solid overall grade as described above, but we really wanted to emphasize its nearly flawless inspection reports in recent years. We gave them an A- in this category. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating our inspection ratings. One of those factors is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is usually more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these end up being relatively insignificant. While this nursing home had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' scale. A few minor deficiencies shouldn't lead you to cross a nursing home off your list.
Nurse Quality
In addition, we awarded this nursing home a grade of B in our nursing category. This is one of our better grades. We assessed the licensure of nurses working for the nursing home, as well as the quantity of time the nurses were with patients, in computing our score in this category. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can many times be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality
This facility's third highest category is its long-term care score, where it was given a grade of B-. If you are looking for anything other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at long-term care ratings. One of the datapoints we considered in addition to nurse's aid hours is vaccines. Frankly, we were a bit bothered by the fact that this facility administered the pneumonia vaccine to only 83.146065 percent of its residents. Fortunately, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
Short-term Care Quality
The next category we rated is short-term care, which was this facility's weakest category. We awarded this facility a D in this category. Our short-term care scores are presumably more important for individuals in need of rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation generally mandates higher levels of skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes not just nursing services, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Given its grade in this category, we were not surprised to learn that this facility is well below average in terms of the quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its patients based on the measures we looked at. Frankly, this was about what we expected to find. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of residents that eventually returned home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.7 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
