Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality-based metrics and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home Illinois in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can frequently be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as having a protocol of moving a patient even once per day.

Turning to the final area, we awarded this nursing home a D in long-term care. This was the nursing home's worst category rating. However, you shouldn't over-emphasize one poor score. Nursing homes that receive this type of score in long-term care likely don't provide the kind of consistent around the clock care that some other facilities provide.
