Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
This facilities grades were terrible across the board. In particular, we wanted to draw your attention to its poor nursing grade where it received an F. Nursing scores are primarily associated with the facility's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing scores. This nursing home performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these datapoints to be good measures of the quality of nursing care.
Facility Inspections
Unfortunately, this nursing home earned an F for its inspection rating. This is a very important category. Grades in this range typically point to some red flags on the facility's government inspection reports. You should pay close attention to any deficiencies on a facility's inspection reports when it receives this bad of an inspection grade. We recommend you pay close attention to the level of severity of those deficiencies. This particular nursing home was hit with a deficiency by government inspectors. We were relieved to find that it was not in a category that suggests that it created a threat to resident health or safety. Finally, CMS cited this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. Hopefully, its performance improves in the future, but until then we simply can't recommend this facility.

Short-term Care Quality
Sadly, this facility received an F for its short-term care score. In calculating our short-term care scores, we scrutinize a nursing home's levels of skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists speech therapists and other types of therapists. This area is often a reliable measure of the facility's rehabilitation. With its score in this category, we weren't surprised to discover that this nursing home is well below average in terms of the number of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its patients based on the figures we assessed. Frankly, this was what we expected to find. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. This definitely was not a strength for this facility. We found that just 4.8 percent of this facility's patients returned home. At most facilities, around half of their patients are able to return home so this is well below average.
Long-term Care Quality
Turning to the next area, this nursing home did not perform well here either. With a bottom of the barrel grade of F in long-term care, this is just about as bad as it gets. When facilities receive this kind of grade in this category it is a bad sign for resident care and it may indicate that the nursing home is not as well-staffed with nurses and aids. In addition to looking at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. As it turns out, this facility provided the vaccine to only 26.442307 percent of its residents, which is a bit of a concern. Surprisingly, this nursing home was actually decent at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.05 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.
