Long-term Care Quality
On top of its strong overall score, we gave this facility an A- for our long-term care grade. When facilities receive a score in this range in long-term care it typically means it's well-staffed and is an overall good place to live on a permanent basis. One of the factors we considered after nursing hours is vaccinations. This facility provided the pneumonia vaccine to 95.45455 percent of its residents. Vaccination is a great way to avoid unnecessary hospitalizations for the aged 65 and up population. Finally, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
Facility Inspections
Turning to another one of this facility's strengths, it also earned a very impressive inspection rating. Inspections turned out to be one of its best category grades. In that area, we awarded this facility an B+. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing our inspection ratings. One key factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these end up being relatively minor. Although this facility had a few deficiencies on its government inspection report, none were severe based on CMS' scale. The fact that none of the deficiencies were severe leaves us less concerned with this inspection report.

Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home received an impressive short-term care score as well. We awarded it one of our higher grades in that area with a score of B. In the category of short-term care, we endeavor to evaluate measures of a facility's rehabilitation services. We analyze the facility's skilled nursing services, including the ones performed by registered nurses and various therapists. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last datapoint we assessed in this category is the number of patients who returned home from the facility. We found that 5.3 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
Nurse Quality
The next area we graded is nursing. In this category, we gave this nursing home a grade of B-. Nursing scores are tied to nurse staffing levels. This nursing home provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. This is a relatively low total compared to most facilities. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures. Although this place got docked a bit for its nursing hours per resident, it actually excelled in a few of these quality-based metrics. With fewer than five percent of its patients experiencing pressure ulcers, it fared remarkably well in this metric. This is typically a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can often be avoided by providing better nursing care, such as by employing a system of moving a resident more often.
